About Crochet Toys
What is an amigurumi?
Amigurumi is the Japanese art of crocheting small stuffed animals and characters. The word combinesami(crocheted) andnuigurumi(stuffed doll). At Spreeberry, every amigurumi character has a unique name, personality, and backstory — making each finished piece truly your own.
What is a crochet lovey?
A crochet lovey (also called a snuggler or security blanket toy) combines a crocheted stuffed animal head with a soft blanket body. Designed as comfort items for babies and toddlers, they're soft, cuddly, and easy to hold. Spreeberry offers Large Loveys (Big Snugglers) and Little Loveys in a variety of animal designs.
What is the difference between a Large Lovey and a Little Lovey?
A Large Lovey has a bigger blanket body — a more substantial comfort toy, great as a gift or keepsake. A Little Lovey is smaller and more compact, quick to make and perfect for on-the-go. Both feature the same signature Spreeberry character design
What is the difference between a Plushie and a Lovey?
A Plushie is a classic standalone stuffed animal — fully three-dimensional with a head, body, and limbs. A Lovey replaces the body with a crocheted blanket, making it flatter and cuddlier. Both are amigurumi-style, but Plushies sit upright while Loveys are designed to be held and snuggled.
What is a No-Sew or Low-Sew crochet pattern?
A No-Sew patternrequires zero sewing — all parts are joined while you crochet. A Low-Sew pattern reduces sewing to just a few simple joins. Both are ideal for beginners or anyone who finds finishing work frustrating. Spreeberry specializes in these beginner-friendly formats.
